Lots of people wonder whether they're drinking too much, especially when it's become the way to wind down or cope. Asking the question is a sign of strength, not weakness. Small changes are more possible than they feel.
What can help
- Notice the pattern without judging it. When do you reach for it, and what for? The honest answer is the start.
- Put a few alcohol-free days in the week. Even a couple gives your body and mind room.
- Find another way to take the edge off, a walk, a call to a mate, a real break. The drink is often standing in for something else.
- Tell someone you trust. Carrying it alone keeps it bigger than it needs to be.
